Ficarello emphasizes taxes, trucks, opioids in Will County executive campaign
Nick Ficarello, a Republican candidate for Will County executive, officially kicked off his campaign and is focusing on issues such as taxes, truck traffic and the opioid epidemic.
Ficarello held a fundraiser Wednesday night at Gatto’s Italian Restaurant in New Lenox, at which he spoke to dozens of supporters.
Will County Executive Larry Walsh Sr., D-Elwood, announced earlier this year he would not seek reelection in 2020. Walsh has held the seat since being first elected in 2004. Ficarello was one of four candidates who decided to run to succeed Walsh.
“Today in Will County, we have several issues,” he said to the crowd of supporters.
